Made to look like it was always there.
A media wall is the first thing anyone sees when they walk into your living room, so it has to look like it was always there. Most of what gets sold as a media wall is a flat pack unit built in a factory to standard sizes, delivered in panels and pushed against your wall. It works, until you notice the gap down one side where the chimney breast runs out of true.
We do it the other way round. Every media wall we build is made on site, in the room it lives in, scribed to the walls, the skirting and the ceiling line as they actually are. Old houses are rarely square and floors are rarely level, and building in place is the only way to deal with that rather than cover it up.
The fire and the television are set into the build rather than hung on it, the power and aerial feeds are chased in before anything closes up, and the whole thing is filled, sanded and either painted in to match your walls or finished in slatted oak or black.
What we build into it
Everything is worked out before we start, because a media wall is far easier to design around your kit than to adjust once it is up.
Fire, built in properly
Landscape, inset or hole in the wall. We build the opening to the model and leave the ventilation the manufacturer asks for, so it works as it should and is safe to run.
Cables run out of sight
Power, aerial, HDMI and soundbar feeds are chased in and run inside the wall before it closes up. No trunking, no loop of cable hanging behind the screen.
Lighting wired in
Warm strip lighting to the recesses and shelving, on its own switch or dimmer, wired in by our NICEIC registered electrician and certified.
Storage underneath
Push to open drawers or doors below for consoles, controllers and the things that normally end up on the floor. Ventilated where kit needs air around it.
Finished into the room
Filled, sanded, and either painted in to match your walls or finished in slatted oak or black. It reads as part of the house, not a piece of furniture pushed against it.

A media wall is rarely just joinery. There is usually an electrician involved, sometimes a plasterer, and almost always a decorator at the end. We bring all of them with us, and they are the same people we work with on every job rather than an outside crew sent in by somebody else.

You get the layout, the finish options and a written price covering the build, the electrics and the making good. No moving numbers later.

Build on site
Two to four days in the room. Frame, first fix electrics, boards, recesses cut to your fire and screen, storage fitted, then filled and sanded ready for decoration.

Finish and hand over
Painted in or slat finished, fire and television fitted, lighting tested, certificates issued for the electrical work, rubbish taken away and the room left clean.

How much does a media wall cost?
Most of the media walls we build land between two and six thousand pounds, depending on the width of the wall, whether a fire is going in, how much storage you want underneath and the finish you choose. Slatted and painted finishes sit at different points. You get one written price covering the build, the electrics and the making good, and it does not move once you have signed it off.
Do you build the media wall on site or deliver it?
On site, in your room, every time. Nothing is built in a workshop and carried in. That is the whole point of the way we work: your chimney breast is not square, your floor is not level and your ceiling line will not be true, and a unit built to a drawing will show every bit of that. Building in place means we scribe to what is actually there.
Can you fit the fire and the television as well?
Yes. We size the recess to the fire and the screen you have chosen, run the power and the aerial or HDMI feeds inside the wall so nothing is on show, and leave the correct ventilation around the fire. Our electrician is NICEIC registered and the electrical work is certified.
How long does it take to build?
A typical media wall takes two to four days on site, plus decorating time if we are painting it in. We agree the dates with you before we start, and you will not be left with a half built wall over a weekend.
Do I need to decide on the fire before you start?
It helps a great deal. The fire and the television set the dimensions of the recesses, so knowing the models before we build means everything is cut to the exact opening rather than adjusted afterwards. If you have not chosen yet we can talk you through what works in the space.
